My beliefs

I have always had strong beliefs and I would also say strong morals, but I thought as I am starting to blog regularly I would just explain what they are. Firstly I am a Christian and obvously I believe in God, and unlike Tony Blair I don't think it is just a private thing, it is more important to me than anything else. I believe that as a christian I have to stand up for what is right and just, if you have ever read the Bible you will find that there are over 2500 verses which talk about these 2 things. I also believe in integrity and honesty which aren't just words they are principles which we should live our lives by. As someone who is taking his first steps into politics I can see that for most people politicians are a bunch of thieving, liying b*******, I can totally understand their point of view. I don't believe they are all like that but as you can imagine a few bad ones can tarnish the reputation of everyone involved. I believe in freedom of speech, unfortunately our political masters no longer want this. It is important that within a democracy we have the ability to stand up and speak our minds. As Voltaire said " I may hate what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it".
I also believe strongly in the family unit, I believe that fathers have a very important role to play in our society and within the family. Fathers can bring direction, discipline and love to their children.
Anyway, I know I have touched on many subjects here but I thought I would just let you know were I stand.
